Community Guidelines

Chitchat.gg is a chat platform that allows you to:

• Connect with others and form friendships on our platform.
• Engage in conversations with others who share similar interests.
• Enjoy a safe and respectful environment where everyone is welcome.

In accordance with our Terms of Service, You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account and engage on our platform. If we determine that you are under 18, we will terminate your account.

What We Don’t Allow

Engaging in any of the following actions will result in a warning and may lead to having your account suspended.

• Sharing any type of imagery that depicts real-life violence, gore or animal cruelty. However, an exception to this rule has been made for violence portrayed in media (including movies,games, books and such).
• Soliciting money, including requests for donations, promoting sales, or selling items on the platform.
• Redirecting users to other social platforms without prior meaningful conversations.
• Communicating with minors, even if they are not supposed to be on the platform. If you encounter minors, report them immediately, so we can ban them from our service.
• Using our service with malicious intent, in a way that is not reasonable under normal usage, in order to outsource computing and/or storage resources to our servers, as well as other forms of Denial of Service to our infrastructure.
• Creating accounts or using existing accounts to send unsolicited advertisements to others or to harass other individuals.
• The selling and buying of Chitchat.gg accounts.

Please note we are committed to resolving every single report. Please be patient and do not spam our support team - we appreciate your concerns and will act upon them.

What We Can’t Allow

Engaging in any of the following will result in immediate account termination. You may also be blacklisted from using our services indefinitely.

• Sharing or requesting any content or imagery that is illegal. We don’t want you or us to get into any legal trouble, so stay in line by not engaging in illegal activities or sharing illegal content such as, but not limited to, sharing any pornography that is subject to legal age restrictions, pornography that depicts minors, pornography that depicts animals, revenge pornography, the selling or facilitating the usage of drugs, extortion or blackmail.
• Sharing or requesting any content promoting, encouraging or glorifying self-harm or suicide. This includes any content that pushes people to cut or injure themselves; that embraces eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia; or that encourages people to commit suicide as opposed to referring them to the correct treatment and help. If you notice someone in need of urgent help, please contact your local authorities.
• Attempts to hack or otherwise gain unauthorised access to our service - for example, accessing another person’s account without permission, or attempting to steal another person’s account. This also includes attempts to gain access to our backend networks.
• Distributing pirated software or malware such as viruses, trojans, worms, etc. Any software designed with malicious intent to attack another person or to steal their data is not tolerated.
• Sharing content that is designed to harass or degrade someone else, or that can directly threaten someone’s physical, mental or financial state. This includes death threats, doxxing (sharing personal information without permission), or ignoring someone’s privacy.

How To Avoid Getting Banned

• Chitchat.gg is not a dating platform. Sending unsolicited sexual advances may lead to a suspension.
• Do not ask other users to add you on other platforms without a meaningful reason. This includes, but is not limited to, asking for phone numbers, social media accounts, or other chat platforms.
• If you encounter minors, do not interact with them. Report them instead.
• Do not spam the same messages repeatedly.

Video Chat Rules (Previous Rules Apply)

By using our Video Chat service, you agree to the following video chat specific chat rules. If you can not comply with these rules, please do not use our service.

To use our Video Chat service, you must be 18 years of age or older. If we determine that you are younger than 18, we will terminate your account.

1. Excessive use of obscene language, otherwise considered rude or toxic behavior, gestures or actions are not allowed. This includes discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, nationality, gender, age, appearance, etc. Threatening to dox, expose, blackmail, hurt, or in other ways harm another user, is prohibited. Recording or photographing users against their knowledge and consent is not allowed.
2. We do not allow the use of third-party software (extensions, plugins, bots, programs, and similar) to change the functionality of our service or in any way harm other users or violate their rights.
3. Do not expose yourself on camera. This includes appearing in underwear, sheer material, and partially or fully undressed.
4. It is not allowed to engage in sexually explicit behavior. This includes but is not limited to exposing certain body parts (e.g. the crotch, the feet, intimate body parts), even if they appear clothed. Do not engage in sexually explicit gestures, e.g. licking your lips in a seductive way, or explicit movements, e.g. rubbing items up and down. Do not make use of sexually suggestive text, such as emoji combinations that imply sexual meaning due to context or common interpretation (e.g. eggplant, water drops, etc.) or sexually explicit terms (e.g. “cock”, “pussy”).
5. Do not ask for or suggest sexually explicit behavior from strangers you meet in our video chat. Touching your intimate body parts while using our video chat is prohibited. Do not ask other users to expose themselves, show their body or specific body parts, perform sexual acts, and similar.
6. Keep your face visible at all times. Hiding your face might block your camera from being seen by others. If you are not comfortable showing your face in front of the camera, please refer to our text chat feature.
7. Do not use webcam emulators or any other ways to replace, modify, or distort your live video stream, including software filters, visual effects, software masks, or virtual characters.
8. Do not aim the camera at other device screens (e.g. TV, computer, tablet), regardless of the image being displayed on said screen. Do not aim the camera at any photos, illustrations, or drawings that show sexual, illegal, obscene, disturbing, or otherwise harmful imagery. Do not aim the camera at any printed, handwritten, or other text signs that imply sexual, illegal, obscene, disturbing, or otherwise harmful content.
9. We do not allow imagery or text that contains advertisement or promotional content. Do not send any links, including links to videos or social media profiles.
10. Do not send messages in bulk or the same message to a large number of users.
11. Do not ask chat partners to perform any actions (e.g. to like, subscribe, participate in a form, poll or vote, visit a website, and similar).

If you encounter any of the above behavior, we encourage you to report the user through our report feature. Please do not respond to them with an offense or violation. If you do so, you might be breaking these rules, possibly resulting in a ban. If you see a child in the video chat, please immediately report the user, so we can respond quickly and ban the minor from using our service.

Along with the report, our moderators receive a screenshot of the users video stream and their message (if any). We check every report for possible violations and take the necessary measures. We monitor reports 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

Our system automatically bans any user who gets numerous reports within a short amount of time. This helps us identify violations that are otherwise difficult to detect. Our system considers numerous factos that exclude accidental or unjustified bans. However, if you believe your ban was accidental or unjustified, please contact us at [email protected].

By using our video chat service, you agree to our current report system and procedure. Always keep in mind that other users may also send reports about you, which may lead to an automatic ban.

Suspensions

Account suspensions can be removed through a successful appeal, but only if you believe that we took the wrong action. There is no point asking to be appealed for breaking the law.
